I'm Back!!
Dont know why I decided to revive this space. I guess everytime I wrote something these days, its always due to some sort of emotional unbalance.
Oh well, maybe I'm overwhelmed by the whole CNY period where all work came to a perfect standstill and life took a spin on the gambling table, complete with snacks and beers.
Or maybe I really had it with the "so where's your gf? Never bring ah?" questions thrown at me year after year.
Or maybe its the last time I can tell anyone who asked me what i'm doing with a nonchalent "still studying lor". It's really a damn perfect excuse of not having to explain what i'm really doing. I mean, if you want, i can sit you down and bore you with international relations, comparative politics and international law.
But of course, that never happens. And come next CNY, i'll have to explain why i chose a certain profession, what I'm exactly doing in that job and of course the perenial "so where's your gf?"
Had the PS bunch over my place on Sunday. Gambled our day away with texas, mahjong and a failed attempt at Da Xiao (coz we dont know how to distribute the chips. Thats what you get when you put 15 arts students together). I was very happy most people could make it, coz I did quite a fair share of preparatory work in organizing such gatherings (if only I can channel all these energies to my studies, i would be graduating with a first class). But at the end of the day, what mattered most was the fun, joy and laughter. Ask anyone who turned up at the shisha outing, they will agree with that. haha.
speaking of shisha, I bet I wont for my life forget Hock's offer of "Ian McCartney" as "the Beatles guy lor" and "Fred Simpsons" as "the son in the simpsons family". wtf seriously. hahahaha.
Went back to hall lately for some Alumni gathering. Goooood memories i must say. The trusty A blk rooftop bench never felt more familiar, especially with an array of alcoholic bottles displayed on the table. Zh, Al, jingxian, Aaron, Char, and Lionel sng.....it was nice. Missed those days where we would just drink our lives away til 5-6 am without giving a flying fuck about lessons the next day.
So what was I busy with in the last few months?
-Studies (its actually taking up the least of my time. Final semester really makes for unmotivated learning. Everyday in school is more of an attempt to feel less guilty should i skip classes. This is not to say I aint enjoying school. The decision to do my honours was probably the best thing that i did for a long time. Never enjoyed school so much. Its the people, the classes, the nourishment, the opportunity to delay entrance into the vicious rat race outside that made it so worthwhile. At the same time, I've made some friends that I believe will stay with me for a long time. i hope.)
-Job Hunting (dont wanna elaborate too much on that, coz its really a chore. Applied to the ministries, consulting firms, insurance, banks, MNCs and so on and so forth. Just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for those calls.
Ok now i know why I dont update that often.....coz typing all these is boring. heh.
